Drawing on the argument in Matthew Bates\u2019s book Salvation by Allegiance Alone, the video asks what changes when we understand faith as loyalty to the risen King.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why does Jesus ask, \u201cWhy do you call me, \u2018Lord, Lord,\u2019 and do not do what I say?\u201d And why does James say that faith without works is dead?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Obedience does not earn his mercy.
